The cabinet approved a draft law to criminalize sectarian instigation and hate speech.
This came during the cabinet's weekly meeting on Tuesday, led by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
The law aims to restore peace in Iraq after sectarian crimes had increased sharply in Iraq in the recent years. Sectarianism grew in Iraq after the rise of ISIS in northern Iraq and the formation of Iranian Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS).
Constant reports of sectarian based on crimes committed by IMIS terrorists against Sunni civilians were reported, as the militias try to carry out a demographic change in Iraq to serve a Mullah Shiite crescent plan.
