Ahmed al-Deeri, Kurdistan Islamic Group's official in charge of scholars department in Sulaymaniyah, has been assassinated after he finished giving a Friday sermon.
Al-Deeri was assassinated on his way home after he led Friday prayer in Qalat Durra city, spokesman for the group Rabiuar Mohammed said in a press statement.
The deceased scholar was born in 1972.
