Spain shooting leaves cop fighting for life, another seriously wounded

A gunman stormed a funeral parlour in Spain and opened fire leaving one police officer fighting for life and another in a serious conditions, The Sun reported Thursday. 

The shooter then reportedly fled the scene and barricaded himself in a house in Gava in Barcelona.

Police launched a major hunt for the suspect after the horror at around 3.15pm local time.

Reports suggest the gunman stormed a funeral parlour armed with an AK47 and opened fire – blasting one police officer, aged 50, in the neck and the other, aged 62, in the leg.

Both cops were rushed to hospital where the 50-year-old is currently in a critical condition.

Police have said they do not believe the incident is terror-related and reports suggest the shooting may be related to organised crime.
