The electoral commission expressed its deep concerns as political parties haven't submitted their candidates' lists for the coming elections.
The commission threatened those who haven't submitted their lists in the constitutional dates to take legal actions against them.
In a press statement, the commission said that all the parties registered by parties' law number 36 of 2015, haven't submitted any lists of its candidates in the constitutional date.
It added that only one Christian candidate based in Basra and four others in the same governorate submitted their names.
The commission asserted that these actions may affect the elections' date, noting that it will address Iraqi authorities to solve this issue as soon as possible.
Earlier on 4th of June, the commission gave two weeks to the political parties to submit their lists in the elections due to be held next September.
It also warned the parties that if they don’t submit their lists in the legal time they will be banned from participating in the next elections.
