Iraqi security forces have discovered an ISIS massive dungeon, where dozens of civilian detainees from Anbar Governorate were found during Mosul right bank's liberation operation, a  Nineveh security source revealed on Sunday.

In a press statement, the source said that dozens of the detainees, who have been discovered, are from cities of Fallujah, Ramadi, al-Saqalawiya and al-Karmah, located in Anbar Governorate.

The detainees have been freed and they are receiving treatment, he added.

This comes within the framework of the ongoing campaign to oust ISIS terrorists from Mosul.

Security forces, backed by US-led Coalition air raids and logistic support of the US army, have retaken eastern Mosul and half of its western part after six months of battles. These forces are focusing now on controlling the Old City.

It is estimated that there are a few of ISIS terrorists left in the second largest city of Iraq. It is expected that they will desperately defend the last pocket of the city that has been once their main stronghold in Iraq.
