Jubeir: Arab-Islamic-US Summit highlights Washington policy toward ME

Al-Jubeir and Tillerson in a joint press conference
Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir said that the content of US President Donald Trump's speech at the Arab-Islamic-American Summit included key indicators of US policy toward the Middle East, according to SPA.

In a joint press conference held in Riyadh with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, he stated that the speech also included the horizon of cooperation between the US and the Arab and Islamic worlds to confront terrorism and extremism.

He noted that the summit is a pivotal point in the history of the world and opens a new chapter between the Arab, Islamic and western worlds.

He added that this will contribute to creating a partnership between the two worlds to counter extremism and terrorism and maintain security, peace and stability in the region.
The Saudi minister pointed out that GCC countries and the US addressed the importance of intensifying Gulf cooperation in various fields such as developing the capabilities of counterterrorism institutions and intensifying military exercises among these countries.
In turn, Tillerson explained that the current conflicts do not relate to religions or certain countries but rather a conflict between good and evil.

Iran continues to carry out hostile activities in Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, he said, calling on Iran to respect neighboring rights by stopping its ongoing activities to destabilize the region.
