43 leaders arrive in Riyadh to attend Arab-Islamic-US Summit Sunday

Trump and King Salman
Leaders and representatives of 43 countries arrived in Riyadh to participate in Arab-Islamic-US Summit, SPA reported on Sunday.

As many as 30 presidents and kings, four heads of governments and crown princes and representatives from nine countries have arrived in the Saudi capital.

In the first summit held between Trump and King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, they discussed fostering relations between the two countries and means to strengthen bilateral ties in political, economic and security fields.

Moreover, the two leaders have discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and the world and efforts to achieve stability and security in the region.

Trump and King Salman are expected to announce forming a new Arab-Muslim alliance that will include over 17 Muslim and Arab countries.

Gulf Observers said that the summit is designed to mark the expansion of defense relations between the US and moderate Arab and Muslim nations for a joint war against ISIS.

Arab and Muslim leaders' alliance will not only fight ISIS but the Iran's Shiite proxies in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.

This will exacerbate Tehran's fears as the alliance is also expected  to counter Iran’s influence in the region.
