MP: National Alliance obstructs passage of general amnesty bill

The Iraqi National Alliance obstructed  passing the amendment of general amnesty bill in the recent parliamentary session, Zana Said, the Iraqi parliament's legal affairs committee member, said on Tuesday. 

He stated that the Iraqi National Alliance does not want the bill to include the crimes of kidnapping.

He added that the parliament speaker decided to postpone the vote to the next week in the hopes of solving the disagreement over this bill.

Chief of parliamentary al-Fadilah Bloc Ammar Tiammah once said that General Amnesty law favored criminals, neglected the rights of victims and it must be amended.
