Houthis killed 37, 000 civilians in Yemen, govt. says

Yemen's legitimate government on Wednesday called on Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to list Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis as a terror group.

Yemen is suffering the woes of a new kind of terrorism, deputy chair of the Yemeni Parliament's human rights committee told Saba news agency, adding 'it is the terrorism of the Houthis and Saleh militias.

This terror is as devastating as the crimes of ISIS, and al-Qaeda, no less!, he went on to say.

During the 11th session of a forum held by the OIC's body on human rights held in Saudi Arabia, the lawmaker called for condemning the Iranian meddling and terror in the Arab region.

Houthis, in partnership with militias loyal to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh, killed 37, 888 civilians in Yemen.

He also revealed that they detonated 528 homes and laid dozens of mines which killed and injured as equal as 673 civilians.

Moreover, the Houthi terrorists have kidnapped 16, 804 civilians.

According to the Yemeni lawmaker, there are over 4,000 people languishing in the prisons of the Houthis.

In 2015, Saudi Arabia led a nine-nation coalition to restore the legitimacy of Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi.

The Saudi-led coalition launched an operation code-named Operation Divisive Storm.

The intervention initially consisted of a bombing campaign on Houthi terrorists and later saw a naval blockade and the deployment of ground forces into Yemen.
