CTS forces join Qa'im recapture operations

Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) forces have joined in the operations of retaking Qa'im city in western Anbar from ISIS, media reports said Sunday.

Earlier, Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi has declared that Iraqi forces have launched military operations to retake Qa'im, Annah, and Rawa cities in western Anbar from ISIS.

This comes as Iraqi security forces fully recaptured Nineveh governorate which was considered to be ISIS' main strong hold in Iraq and are currently sweeping Iraq to oust ISIS remnants from them.

In June 2014, ISIS captured large swathes of Iraq and Syria. But the US-led coalition launched a campaign to oust the terror group of the two countries.
