Iraqi security forces launched on Wednesday an operation to recapture Riyadh district in Hawija town in Kirkuk governorate, according to a security source.
The source said that the operations will be launched from two different fronts to achieve more effectiveness.
He added that Kirkuk's security is stable, noting that Hawija operations will continue as planned.
He further added that the Iraqi forces are expected to enter the Hawija's center by dawn.
He noted that the Iraqi forces are still cleansing Rashad district because it has many underground tunnels that ISIS terrorists use as hideouts.
This comes as Iraqi security forces fully recaptured Nineveh governorate which was considered to be ISIS' main stronghold in Iraq and are currently sweeping Iraq to oust ISIS remnants from them.
