Two militiamen affiliated to Iranian militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS) were injured in a blast in northern Al Hillah city, located south of Baghdad, a police source said Thursday.
The two injured militants were admitted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, he asserted.
The security forces cordoned off the scene and opened an investigation into the incident.
IMIS is one of the main groups fomenting terror in the country as it heavily depends on support from Iran. Its foremost aim is to enforce demographic changes in the Sunni regions in Iraq.
