Sadrist Movement's central committee overseeing protests called on Iraqi people to hold a protest on Friday.
In a press release on Wednesday, the committee said that leader of the movement, Moqtada al-Sadr, has called for organizing a huge peaceful protest in Tahrir Square against election commission and its laws as well as the recent killing threats against Sadr.
The committee called on protesters to only raise Iraq's flag and chant slogans that call for a united Iraq as well as cooperating with security forces during the demonstrations.
On Fridays, followers of Sadrist Movements, in collaboration with other Iraqi trends, stage demonstrations at Tahrir Square in Baghdad, demanding speedy measures to wipe out corruption, as well as political reform.
In recent demos, the protesters have called for changing the electoral commission and replacing the current election law.
