Attacks against Baghdad by three suicide bombers foiled: BOC

Baghdad Operations Commander Jalil al-Rubai
Commander of Baghdad Operations (BOC) Lt General Jail al-Rubai said Thursday that an attempt to attack the Iraqi capital Baghdad by three suicide bombers wearing explosive belts was foiled.

Iraqi security forces shot dead one of the suicide bombers, while the two others were detained, added the commander.

In a statement released on the security operation, Rubai said a joint force from the 7th Baghdad Emergency Squad along with the Iraqi Intelligence elements have carried out a preemptive operation that was outlined based on a tip-off to the Iraqi security forces that three suicide bombers are planning attacks on Baghdad areas.

He made it clear that the suicide bombers were besieged in one of the building in al-Radwaniyah district in Al-Makasip village in western Baghdad. The joint troops shot dead one of the suicide bombers and arrested the two others.
