U.S. official advise Iraqi gov't against escalations against Tel Aviv, Washington

The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad has notified the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Al-Hakim to send an urgent message to Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi regarding the recent airstrikes against camps of the Iranian Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS).

Sources have told the Baghdad Post that an official at the embassy advised the Iraqi minister against escalation or any actions against Washington or Tel Aviv.

This advice is what made IMIS commander Faleh al-Fayyad to disown remarks by deputy head of the IMIS, Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandis, in which he accused Washington of providing facilitation to Israel for the air raid.

The sources further added that the U.S. official stressed that the Iraqi government should disarm and dissolve the IMIS.

IMIS leaders argue that 13 of their camps were attacked by air raids within one year.
