Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi will send the names
of candidates for vacant ministries to the parliament during one of the two
sessions on Saturday or Monday next week, a parliamentary source said.
The new names include Najah al-Shammari for the defense ministry, Abd al-Ghani al-Asadi for the interior ministry, Safana al-Taei for the education ministry and Rizgar Mohamed for the justice ministry.
The source blamed Abd al-Mahdi for the delay in completing the government formation, saying that the premier has tried to achieve consensus from all parliamentary powers on candidates, which the source described as "difficult in light of the disputes existing between most of the political powers."
