Turkey's amb. to Iraq urges opening new border crossings

Fatih Yildiz, Turkey's Ambassador in Baghdad called for opening new border crossings to increase trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey, referring to the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.

Yildiz, during his meeting with secretary general of the Iraqi cabinet Hameed al-Ghazi, expressed the Turkish companies' willingness to work on this through rehabilitating the road extending from Faysh Khabur to Baghdad.

The ambassador also affirmed his country's support for Iraq in the efforts exerted to reconstruct the Iraqi cities liberated from ISIS, expressing Turkey's desire to involve Turkish companies in the reconstruction projects in Iraq.

He also expressed the desire of the Turkish companies to invest in the establishment of airports, especially those of Mosul, Kirkuk, and Dhi Qar.
