PM, Sisi agree on promoting joint Arab action to face regional threats
Prime Minister Adil Abdel-Mahdi phoned Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Monday, Egypt's Presidential spokesperson Ambassador Bassam Rady said.
Iraqi Prime Minister congratulated the Egyptian people on the success of the referendum on the constitutional amendments, praising the positive developments witnessed by Egypt at all levels, especially the economic and development over the past years.
He also affirming his country’s great appreciation to Egypt and the President within the framework of the deep historical relations between Egypt and Iraq at the official and popular levels.
For his part, the President affirmed Egypt’s pride in its historic brotherly relations with Iraq, praising the continuous development witnessed by the cooperation frameworks between the two countries.
He affirmed Egypt’s continued support for the Iraqi government and working to develop bilateral relations at all fronts.
The Spokesman added that the telephone call dealt with means of enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in light of the outcome of the Egyptian-Iraqi-Jordanian summit held in Cairo last March.
The two sides also agreed on the importance of promoting joint Arab action to face regional challenges and common threats, thus contributing to strengthening solidarity among the Arab countries.
