Soran Omar, an Iraqi politician of the Kurdistan Islamic Group accused the Kurdistan government of spending $50 billion in the absence of the supervision of the Parliament and integrity authorities.
He added that the government did not even submit an account statement, to clarify how it spent the money.
The money the KRG received from the federal government and from the sale of oil, during the previous years was spent without the knowledge of the control authorities, Omar said. He added that the revenues of the sale of oil and gas, customs, fees and trade are controlled by the powerful parties.
"The wrong economic policies of the KRG have enriched many influential people, and [caused] thousands of investors and traders to go bankrupt,” Omar stated.
