Fighting corruption requires strong political will: Committee

MP Raed Fahmi, secretary of the Central Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party

Raed Fahmi, a member of the Parliament’s planning committee, has said that countering corruption at the institutions require a strong political will.

In press remarks, Fahmi said, “Ending corruption necessary to enhance the performance of state institutions in order to attract investments and create job opportunities.”

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi announced finalizing the measures for establishing the counter-corruption council. He considered hampering the important projects as the biggest form of corruption.
