Most ministers previously charged with corruption: Sayadi

Abdul Mahdi

Independent Iraqi MP Kadhim Al-Sayadi asserted Thursday that most of the ministers of Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi's government have faced charges of corruption during their previous posts.

Sayadi said that large corruption deals took place during the last two hours of the cabinet vote on Wednesday, presented by Abdul Mahdi, asserting that it led to the change of nearly four ministers, most notably the Minister of Transport, which was initially Majid Saadi.

He said that the Wednesday session was influenced by some people in order for corrupt ministers to pass, the purpose of which is to control these ministries and thus control their decisions, adding that some ministers were appointed in a manner contrary to the constitution because they have double nationalities.
