Kurdistan Region's PM Nechirvan Barzani said Wednesday a Kurdish delegation will arrive in Baghdad soon for talks over the formation of a new government.
Addressing a press conference, Barzani said “We have not yet engaged in talks to form a new government, but a Kurdish delegation will visit Baghdad soon to this end.”
He also hailed the high turnout by Kurdish voters in the Saturday polls.
He indicated that the Kurdish leadership takes the same distance from all political blocs in Baghdad.
He added that the Kurds have the right to take over a sovereign position in Iraq.
The results of the Saturday elections have not yet been announced.
