Australian teenager arrested in Lebanon on suspected ISIS links
An Australian teenager has been arrested in Lebanon after local authorities suspected him of trying to enter Syria to join ISIS, The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper quoted officials as saying on Saturday.

The 18-year-old from Sydney was caught by the Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) two days before his planned departure to Syria.

Since his arrest, he has been divulging details of Australian ISIS terrorists, as well as Australian supporters and financial backers of the terror group.

The ISF said the young man, only identified by the initials AM, was born in 1999, had lived in Sydney for several years and "embraced extremist ideology" by following ISIS-generated propaganda news and videos.

They said he arrived in Lebanon on August 20 and attempted to obtain a passport and travel permit to enter Syria without catching the attention of authorities.
