Kurdistan Region's President Masoud Barzani announced on Tuesday that the region needs a new national anthem and flag after declaring its independence.
In a speech he delivered during a meeting with representatives of Christians, Yazidis, Turkmen and Armenians and other components of Kurdistan Region, Barzani said that the threats era had come to an end.
He also noted that threatening language will no longer be tolerated from anybody.
If independence is a wrong move, why have many regions considered it? he wondered.
He further stated that Kurdistan people's blood, which had been shed in the battle against ISIS, should have a price, namely independence of the region.
Earlier, Barzani said on Monday the federal government is not in a position to talk about respecting the constitution it violated on numerous occasions.
He also reiterated that the referendum will not be delayed at any rate.
Kurdistan Regional Government announced on June 7 that it would vote on September 25 on secession from Iraq.
