Iraqi forces have fully liberated al-Eqtisadieen and 17 Tamouz in the right bank of Mosul from ISIS terrorists, Federal Police Commander Gen. Raed Shakir Jawdat said on Tuesday.
In a press statement, Jawdat said that Federal Police forces are currently advancing in the Mosul's northern front, crushing ISIS terrorists' defenses, leaving their remnants between dead or fleeing the area.
A sniper regiment was deployed on top the roofs of the liberated neighborhoods to support mine sweepers and protect fleeing citizens from the combat zones, Jawdat added.
The general asserted that the police forces are preparing to recapture the strategic Great al-Nuri Mosque from ISIS terrorists.
The federal police killed dozens of terrorists among them were an ISIS leader in charge of security Abu Hafsah al-Tunsi and his assistant Abu Ali al-Ansari and seized huge amounts of weapons and ammunition in possession of the terrorists.
