An Iraqi citizen has been killed and four others injured after Iraqi police police brutally dispersed a protest in Basra calling for new jobs for the unemployed, well-informed sources told the Baghdad Post by phone.
Hundreds of Basra residents staged a demonstration in front of the province HQ to demand job creation for the unemployed, in addition to improving electricity.
The police fired shots at the protesters. One person was confirmed dead, and another four wounded, the sources said.
