Diyala Governorate Council Chief Ali al-Dayni asserted on Saturday that Iran has cut over 400 mega watts of electricity from the governorate in the last 24 hours for unknown reason.
Dayni asserted that it is time to stop importing electricity from Iran.
In a press statement, Dayni said that this sudden power outage increased the blackout periods in Diyala and inflicted heavy economic damages to its residents.
He added that the government must stop importing electricity from Iran and use the allocated budget to finance al-Mansoriya natural gas station to produce over 700 mega watt that will suit Diyala's power usage and move the surplus to Baghdad.
