Iraqi PM Haidar Abadi has denied his government was besieging the Kurdistan Region, adding the latest crisis with Erbil was because oil, reports said Thursday.
In late 2017, Iraqi forces in cooperation with Iran-backed IMIS Militias attacked the Kurdistan Region in retaliation for the Sept. 25 independence referendum that gave an overwhelming YES for an independent Kurdistan.
Abadi added his government would keep securing the airports and seaports in Suleimaniya and Erbil.
He added the humanitarian and religious flights from Kurdistan airports had been approved, indicating officials' children were denied such approvals.
