Iranian protesters are now calling for the toppling of the Mullahs regime, eyewitnesses told the Baghdad Post Monday.

The protests that erupted Thursday mainly opposed the country's economic problems. But they quickly turned political rejecting the clerical rule in the Shiite country.

At least 12 protesters have been killed, state-run TV reported.

Hundreds others were injured, most of them seriously.
