ISIS terror group is currently rearranging its ranks and preparing to launch suicide attacks that will target different areas in Iraq, the secretary-general of the Peshmerga Ministry, General Jabbar Yawar, revealed on Wednesday, noting that ISIS leader al-Baghdadi was still alive.
All the information that we receive from either the Kurdistan security forces or the international coalition and even from the Iraqi government indicates that remnants of ISIS are reorganizing themselves and planning to carry out attacks in the form of small suicide groups, he further said.
The battle of Mosul began on October 17, 2016, with the participation of the Peshmerga forces, which broke up the defences around the city and paved the way for Iraqi forces to advance towards its centre with the support of the international coalition forces, and the city was restored after nine months of fighting.
Al-Baghdadi was reported to have been hit by the bombing of ISIS strongholds in Iraq earlier, and since then he has not appeared publicly and has only directed his followers through recorded audio tapes.
Washington has given a $ 25 million prize for any information leading to al-Baghdadi.
