Over 75% of the Anbar's railways and train stations were destroyed in the war against ISIS terrorists, Anbar Governorate Council Member Sabah Karhout told The Baghdad Post on Wednesday.
He added that that the all the train stations in the districts and neighborhoods of Anbar have been destroyed, while the railways suffered massive damage and many vital bridges have been destroyed by ISIS terrorists.
Karhout asserted that Anbar's railway system was considered the most important mean of transportation for people and goods from the governorate and to the other Iraqi governorates.
Karhout noted that the government's delay in rehabilitating the train stations is because it requires lots of funds that Baghdad lacks right now.
