Iraqi security forces have found a cache of improvised explosive devices in western Baghdad, a security source told The Baghdad Post on Thursday.
This came as corps of engineering of the 6th division in the Iraqi army launched a wide scale operation to clear the al-Farhoud area from remnants of ISIS terrorists, he added.
Two 57-mm mortar rounds were also seized in one of the empty vehicles with 60 bullets of medium-calibre weapons.
After the liberation of Mosul city, largest ISIS stronghold, Iraqi security forces began to sweep main cities to purge them from ISIS stalwarts.
