Before holding the referendum on independence, a Kurdistan Region passport was featured in a video, obtained by The Baghdad Post, on Tuesday.
Issuing a passport of an independent Kurdistan state is a surprising move as the region’s independence referendum is scheduled to be held on September 25.
This comes as Kurdistan Region faces a number of challenges amid rejection of the referendum by Baghdad, Turkey and the US.
It was reported on Tuesday that the Iraqi Parliament will vote before September 25 on rejecting Kurdistan Region’s independence referendum, which is due to be held on that date.
Earlier, Prime Minister Haider l-Abadi has slammed the Kurdistan region independence referendum as an unconstitutional move.Last Modified: 09 12 2017 03:37 PM
