As many as 17 ISIS terrorists were killed and five civilians injured in a US-led coalition air raid on al-Qaim district in western Anbar, a security source said on Tuesday.

The attack resulted in destroying three checkpoints set up by ISIS terrorists in the villages of al-Romana, Karabla, and Atraf Hasibah, the source added.

Over the last few days, Anbar province has witnessed several terrorist attacks carried out by ISIS.

After Iraqi forces ousted ISIS terrorists from Mosul, it swept rest of Iraqi provinces to liberate them from ISIS.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said Iraqi security forces launched an offensive to take back the city of Tal Afar, their next objective in the US-backed campaign to defeat ISIS terrorists.
