Baghdad Operations Command announced on Thursday that 18 foreign women were arrested in Baghdad on charges of organ trafficking.

A force of the 54th Brigade in the army in cooperation with Organized Crime Directorate succeeded to arrest the gang in al-Yarmouk district.

The trafficking of kidneys and other organs is a phenomenon in Baghdad, Insiders said, noting that gangs offering up to $10,000 (£7,000) for a kidney.
