Minister of migration and displacement Jassim Mohammed al-Jaf declared that up to 35,000 displaced persons returned home in Nineveh in July.
He added:"The districts where the displaced persons have returned include Wadi Hajar, al-Mansur, al-Mamoun, al-Shuhadaa, al-Rashidia and Nabi Yonus."
The minister yet noted the number of those who returned to their homes since the launch of the operations to liberate Nineveh totaled 253,300.
Also, al-Jaf revealed that there are 49,502 people who fled the province in July, bringing the total number of the province's displaced persons to more than 952,000.
He called on concerned ministries and government agencies to speed up efforts reconstruct the areas damaged by the war on ISIS terrorists.
This comes as the Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi had declared Mosul as and ISIS-free area after months-long fighting.
The battle started in October 2016.
