A security official in Anbar said Friday there is cooperation between Iraqi and Jordanian forces at the border area between the two countries.
The Iraqi forces stationed at the border area west of Anbar are collaborating with the Jordanian border guards through exchanging of security information and securing the area, Col. Shaker Obeid al-Rishawi said.
He explained: "There are surveillance and monitoring towers along the Iraqi-Jordanian border, and there are continuous contacts and meetings between military commanders of the two countries, in order to serve the border areas."
This comes as the Iraqi forces declared Mosul as ISIS free late last June, amid reports speaking of the demise of its chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
