Over 1,000 ISIS terrorists have been killed in Old City's battle in Mosul's right bank, Lieutenant-General Raed Jawdat, commander of Federal Police Forces, revealed in on Sunday.
In a statement obtained by The Baghdad Post, Jawdat announced ISIS' losses in the battle for the Old City, noting that the forces destroyed 65 military vehicles, 20 booby-trapped bikes and 24 motorbikes.
The forces also destroyed 38 ISIS posts, five communication towers and eight tunnels, Jawdat stated.
He added that the forces defused 71 explosive belts and 310 explosive devices and 181 missiles.
On Sunday, Counter Terrorism Service (CTS) forces raised the Iraqi flag on the edge of Tigris River in Mosul's Old City.
This is considered a declaration of victory over ISIS after more than eight months of battles between the security forces, backed by US-led international coalition, and the terrorist group.
