Counter-terrorism services forces have liberated the Industrial neighborhood in the right bank of Mosul, a well-informed source told The Baghdad Post.
The Iraqi forces liberated the area after inflicting heavy casualties on ISIS terrorists and raised the Iraqi flag over the neighborhood's buildings.
The source added that the Iraqi forces are currently shelling Senaat Ghanim al-Sayed neighborhood, noting that this area will be liberated soon.
The source stressed that the Industrial neighborhood was liberated very quickly especially that there is no civilian presence in this area and because of the industrial nature of this area.
The source noted that Iraqi forces could have liberated Mosul months ago, but heavy civilian populace prevented them from this.
This victory puts the Iraqi forces at the doorstep of al-Islah al-Zeraei neighborhood which enjoys heavy civilian populace.
These efforts come as part of an offensive launched on 19th of February by the US-backed Iraqi forces supported by Iranian-backed sectarian IMIS Shiite militias to oust ISIS terrorists from Mosul, their last major stronghold in Iraq.Last Modified: 05 09 2017 03:26 PM
