Armed police have this morning swooped on London's
Charing Cross Stantion to reports of a man on the tracks "claiming to have a
bomb", the Daily Star said.
In a statement, British Transport Police (BTP) said: "BTP officers are currently dealing with an incident at Charing Cross railway station after receiving reports at 6.35am of a man on the underground tracks claiming to have a bomb.
"BTP firearms officers are at the scene and the station has been evacuated as a precaution.
"Due to the incident there are currently no trains or underground services running through Charing Cross and passengers are advised to check with TFL or National Rail Enquiries before they travel."
