A total of 17 ISIS terrorists were killed during an offensive to purge the banks of Tigris river, a security source said on Sunday.
In a statement, the source said that Iraqi security forces deployed troops in al-Busev and al-Shamsyat districts in southeastern Mosul.
Earlier on Sunday, Iranian militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS) announced the killing of 13 ISIS elements in an operation in northeastern Baqubah.
In July Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced that ISIS has been defeated in Mosul city, their last major stronghold, roughly after nine months of a wide-scale military operation backed by US forces.Last Modified: 12 31 2017 05:55 PM
