More than 1,000 fighters in al-Mansouria and al-Maqdadia areas in Diyala governorate have not been incorporated into the Tribal Hashid due to the interference of many members of the provincial council and MPs, the provincial council member Raad al-Masoudi told The Baghdad Post on Sunday.
He added that the fighters names' list had been sent to the central government in Baghdad for the audit and approval but the government rejected this list.
Instead, Iraqi Prime Minister has chosen another list, including other fighters' names, submitted by other lawmakers and members of the provincial council for electoral purposes.
Based on tribal motives, the other fighters have been selected.
The 1,000 fighters have threatened to protest, demanding their rights which have been stolen by several politicians, Masoudi confirmed.
He warned that the Tribal Hashid's fighters, who have been selected by the government, might be exploited to force innocent civilians to elect a particular party or individual.
