Fierce clashes erupted between the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and ISIS terrorist group on the eastern banks of Euphrates River in the outskirts of Deir Ezzor, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Saturday.

The SDF aim to advance on ISIS terrorists in eastern Euphrates River, while ISIS militants managed to control Abu Hamam city and other areas there, SOHR added.

The shelling between the SDF and ISIS militants is still ongoing amid continued displacements of the civilians in the area, SOHR added.
