Iraq's anti-corruption campaign needs international support and efforts to succeed, as corruption has spread to all Iraqi institutions, MP of Eslah bloc Sadiq al-Mahna al-Khamis said on Thursday.
In a statement, Khamis said that fighting corruption with conventional methods is not a viable option in Iraq, as it has evolved into massive "mafia" that own armies for its protection.
He added that Iraq needs international intervention to end corruption, so Iraq can retake its stolen wealth from the corrupt, noting that war against corruption is as important as fighting ISIS terrorists, as both corruption and terrorism are two face of the same coin.
